New Project Launch for Returnees Women in Raja County,Western Bahr el Ghazal.

STEWARDWOMEN is excited to announce the launch of a new project supporting returnee’s women and host communities affected by the Sudan crisis in Raja County, Western Bahr el Ghazal. The project title is “Enhancing the Livelihoods of Conflict-Affected Communities.”. Key stakeholders, including the county authorities, returnees’ representatives, host communities’ representatives, the humanitarians on the ground, and market vendors’ representatives, attended the project launch. We believe involvement of these stakeholders is crucial for the project’s long-term success, community ownership, and sustainability of the project.

Presentation of Position Paper on National Disability Bill

With Support from UNDP, STEWARDWOMEN presented a position paper on the enactment of
the National Persons with disabilities bill (2025) to ensure inclusive justice for all. The Bill is
currently in the Parliamentary Committee Review stage. While the policy intent is clear, the
transition from “Draft” to “Law” is lagging. This delay leaves thousands of South Sudanese with
disabilities in a legal vacuum, where their rights are recognized on paper but unenforceable in
practice. The position paper calls for the urgent Enactment of the (Draft) National Persons with
Disabilities Bill.

STEWARDWOMEN holds radio talk show on stigma in the justice system

With Support from Synergy for Justice, STEWARDWOMEN held three (3) radio talk shows awareness campaigns on stigma in the justice system and the establishment of safe and free reporting channels such as free 24-hour hotlines for CRSV survivors in South Sudan. The radio talks were held in Juba, Bentiu, and Bor respectively. Panellists of the talk shows, including representatives of the Survivors Networks shared the different experiences on stigma, being one of the hindrances to access to justice and other needs by survivors, the important to challenge stigma within ourselves and in others to create a more inclusive and supportive society where survivors’ voices are heard, their rights are defended, and their choices are explored.
